Michy Batshuayi was signed about a year ago from Marseille for the sum of £33 million. His season at Chelsea didn’t start as expected, as the Belgian was reduced to a benchwarmer for most part of the campaign.

However, he got his breakthrough when he scored the goal that sealed the title for Chelsea against West Brom, and that goal was the beginning of the good things to come in Batshuayi’s Chelsea career.

The 23-year-old started only one game in the Premier League last season, and he’s now seeking assurances from Chelsea ahead of the new season.

Batshuayi was supposed to go on loan for next season, but his form at the end of last season might mean the Belgian will have to fight for his shirt alongside whoever Antonio Conte signs this summer, with Diego Costa set to leave the club and Romelu Lukaku set to be signed.

According to Goal, Michy Batshuayi is set for Chelsea talks in the coming days and he wants assurances over his future after struggling to make an impact in his first season at the club.
