Despite the lack of transfer activity at the club so far, fans may begin to wear a smile after weeks of uncertainty and fears over our 2017/18 season. While other football clubs have been busy this summer, we haven’t quite done much in the transfer area, apart from a few names being linked to us.

The likes of Romelu Lukaku and Oxlade Chamberlain have been linked with the Bridge in recent weeks, and that gave Chelsea fans concern because they’re not the sort of high profile names we usually are associated with. I even did a piece on the rumors, stating exactly how we didn’t need OX. Well, now, things appear to be taking a different turn. It does seem like a good time to be happy if you’re a Chelsea fan. For the first time this summer, not only are we being linked with a very high profile player, we’re being linked with 3. It does seem a very good leap from where we were weeks ago, especially after the unsavory rumors about a potential exit for Antonio Conte. He’s set to accept a contract extension, and he’s given his transfer wish list to the club hierarchy, which includes Italian veteran, Bonucci, as well as Sandro, both from Juventus, and to add an icing on the cake, Lewandowski have also been linked with us recently, even though it’s still a big shot away.

Obviously, these names are very heavy players and contributors to their clubs, so a move will be very difficult for them, as is already the case with Sandro, who has had a bid in the region of £52 million rejected by Juve. That is how important these players are to their teams, but we all know that there’s nothing money can’t change. Chelsea is said to be willing to return with an improved bid for both him and Bonucci.

Robert Lewandowski is also being touted to be a target for us. He’s admired by the manager, Conte, and could be the biggest transfer ever to Chelsea if it happens because he’s very valued by Bayern. Now, these deals are obviously very important ones, and could take so much convincing to happen because they’re high profile players, and are important to their respective clubs. But in my opinion, I think that even if we don’t end up getting them all, but we get at least one or two of these names, we’ll be very happy and delighted because that is exactly what we should get. We are Chelsea, and we deserve nothing but the best.

King Jay is a writer/broadcaster with years of experience under his belt. His love affair with Chelsea actually began as a joke, but today, he stands tall as a die-hard blue. What makes him perfect for this blog? He lives for Chelsea FC, in fact, I heard he sat in the middle of a road, and refused to go home after that bitter loss to Barcelona in 2009. Haha.
