Chelsea youngster Tammy Abraham was a hit while on loan with Bristol City last season.
The 19-year-old scored 23 goals in 41 Championship appearances while on loan at Bristol City last season, and his form has alerted a number of clubs in the top flight.
Brighton chief executive Paul Barber, has admitted the Seagulls are interested in Chelsea’s teenage sensation.
Barber said: “It is no secret he is a player of interest to us. There is a lot of competition for Tammy. He is a terrific talent and fine young player.
“But we don’t just have a single player on our list. We have a cluster of players of the same quality and that is how we work.”
He added: “This whole transfer window, as always, is very much a waiting game. People have to be patient.”
Brighton and Newcastle are the two clubs who have shown the most interest in Abraham.
