After having a wonderful season in the La Liga and the Champions League, Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo wants to leave the Bernabeu over a lack of support following his tax row, according to a report by the Daily Express.
Former Chelsea defender Jason Cundy has told the club to spend £100 million on Cristiano Ronaldo rather than spending it on Romelu Lukaku.
He told talkSPORT: “I would take him at Chelsea. If you gave me a straight choice of £100million that Chelsea would appear to be spending on Lukaku or Ronaldo, give me Ronaldo any day of the week.
I don’t think Chelsea would go and buy him. Chelsea are in a different position than Man United – they’re trying to rebuild the stadium.
“They don’t have the financial resources – although if Roman Abramovich wants to go and spend it, financially he could do it.
“If he goes and bring him in, I’ve no problem with that.
“But right here right now, it feels the only club he can go to is Manchester United, that’s how it feels.
“This is a football club that, this season, need to win the big ears or the Premier League.
“They can’t spend another season picking up tin pots – no disrespect to the Europa League.”
