The silly season is under way as every club continues to be linked with players all over the world and our favourite club Chelsea, aren’t left out of the transfer speculations.
Chelsea and London rivals Arsenal are on high alert after Borussia Dortmund defender Sokratis Papastathopoulos hinted that he might be ready for a Dortmund exit this summer according to Goal.com.
Sokratis, who made 26 league starts for Dortmund last season, and 41 appearances in total, has suggested he is open to leaving the Bundesliga club in order to win silverware.
“If you’re young, you have a lot of time to get something,” said the 29-year-old.
“But I’m not young anymore, so time is getting shorter and I really want to win a title.”
Chelsea’s main defensive targets for the summer are Juventus defender Leonardo Bonucci and Southampton’s Virgil van Dijk but Chelsea might have to go the 29-year-old Greece international if moves for Bonucci and Van Dijk fail to materialise.
