Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is keen to sign an experienced goalkeeper as backup to Thibaut Courtois after the exit of Asmir Begovic to Bournemouth.

According to The Times, Chelsea are reportedly interested in signing former Manchester City goalkeeper Willy Caballero.

The 35-year-old goalkeeper was released by Manchester City this month after Pep Guardiola opted against giving him a new contract following the expiration of his City contract.

Newcastle are reportedly interested in signing Caballero but the goalkeeper reportedly prefers a move to Stamford Bridge despite Newcastle offering him a higher salary.

Caballero made 27 appearances for City across all competitions last season and kept ten clean sheets.
