Chelsea are in the market for a new striker, and with Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski said to be unhappy with the Bavarians, Chelsea have enquired about the Poland international according to reports.
Former Chelsea striker Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink believes signing a striker like Lewandowski would be a huge one for the club.
“I like that Chelsea are looking at him because next year it is going to be a little bit different [than last season],” the former Chelsea forward told ITV.
“They won’t be able to play so much on the counter attack – they will play a lot in the final third of the opposition.
“So they need a striker who is good in the air and who can hold the ball in small places.
“That’s what Lewandowski has been doing at Bayern so he’s used to that.
“He’s comfortable getting the ball with his back to the goal and knows where the goal is. I understand [why they are interested].”
