Chelsea are set to break the transfer record twice in the same transfer window as deals for Juventus Alex Sandro and Virgil van Dijk are pursued.
Chelsea are set to make Juventus left-back Alex Sandro, the most expensive defender in the world after reports emerged that Chelsea have agreed a deal of £61million with Juventus for the Brazilian fullback.
Chelsea defender David Luiz holds the record for most expensive defender. PSG paid £50million for Luiz three years ago when he left Stamford Bridge for Paris and Sandro’s £61million move would break Luiz’s record.
Chelsea are reportedly interested in signing Southampton defender Virgil van Dijk.
Various reports claim Southampton are holding out for a fee of £70million for the 25-year-old Netherland international and a deal for Van Dijk could see Chelsea break Sandro’s record transfer in the same window.
