Manchester United’s Paul Pogba is the highest paid player in the Premier League with wages of around £290,000 a week but Chelsea’s Eden Hazard is set to surpass that amount and become the highest paid player in Premier League history.
Hazard has three years left to run on his current £200,000-a-week contract and with rumours linking Real Madrid with Hazard, Chelsea are ready to pay him £320,000 a week to snub a switch to Spain according to Daily Express.
According to Daily Express, Real Madrid have had three meetings with the representatives of Hazard in London. Chelsea are reportedly aware of the meetings between the representatives of Hazard and Real Madrid and are set to put an end to the rumours by making Hazard the best paid Premier League player.
Hazard is expected to snub the advances of Real Madrid after admitting he will remain at Chelsea in a recent interview.
“I’m good here,” Hazard told The Strait Times.
“I’m at one of the best clubs in the world and I think I’m gonna stay for a couple of years.
“I’m very happy. You can see on the pitch that I’m happy.
“Next season we will have the Champions League to play but we want to keep the Premier League trophy in Chelsea.”
