Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is a huge fan of Juventus left-back Alex Sandro, who has been described as the heir to former Brazilian left-back Roberto Carlos.
Chelsea reportedly had a £52million bid for the 26-year-old Brazilian turned down last week by Juventus and the Blues are preparing to go back with an improved £60 million offer for Alex Sandro in the next few days according to Daily Express, which would make the Brazilian the most expensive defender of all time.
Alex Sandro earns around £75,000-a-week, wages Chelsea can easily improve on and Juventus have reportedly told the left-back that they will not stand in his way if he makes it clear he wants to go.
Sandro joined Juventus from FC Porto two seasons ago for a fee of £18.5m and the Brazilian edged out Patrice Evra from the Juventus first team.
Sandro impressed for Juventus in the Champions League, helping the Italian side reach the Champions League final. He made 43 games for Juventus last season, scoring three goals and making five assists.
