Chelsea were reportedly close to sealing the deal for Monaco midfielder Tiemoue Bakayako, but that move seems to have taken a twist, as reports claim the Blues chiefs are frustrated with the many intermediaries involved in signing the 22-year-old Monaco star.
Chelsea have now been rumoured as favourites to sign Lyon midfielder Corentin Tolisso this summer amid reports the Blues have lodged a €35m offer to sign him.
With Lyon’s failure to clinch a Champions League spot, the French giants are now poised to lose Tolisso this summer, and Antonio Conte is said to be keen on signing the combative French midfielder and has reportedly abandoned a move for Monaco midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko in order to prioritise the purchase of the highly-coveted Tolisso.
Tolisso recently admitted that he’d be interested in a move to the Premier League as SkyBet has placed Chelsea as favourites for his signature.
Tolisso said: “I like the Premier League and I think I am well suited to it.
“It is the league that offers the most competition, it is the most open, the most hard-fought and the most spectacular.”
