Chelsea’s transfer target Corentin Tolisso has reportedly joined German club Bayern Munich.
The 22-year-old Lyon playmaker was linked with a move to Chelsea but Bayern Munich have confirmed he has signed a five-year contract with the German side for a reported fee of £35million.
It’s difficult to tell how genuine Chelsea’s interest in the player was but Olympique Lyonnais president, Jean-Michel Aulas confirmed Chelsea were interested in at least one player in his team when he talked to the media ahead of the UEFA Women’s Champions League final.
“I was in Chelsea and we discussed something other than women’s football […] Chelsea players interest us, and the reciprocal is also true,” said Aulas.
Tolisso was reportedly an alternative if Chelsea failed to sign Timoue Bakayoko from Monaco so Tolisso joining Bayern Munich could mean Chelsea have agreed terms with Bakayoko.
