It’s really tough these days trying to sieve the truth from the reports in the media but the report by The Telegraph claiming Chelsea could replace Antonio Conte with former Barcelona manager Luis Enrique doesn’t make any sense.
According to The Telegraph, Conte isn’t happy with Chelsea’s recruitment strategy but Chelsea’s hierarchy will not change their recruitment strategy to appease Conte.
The report also claim Chelsea may turn to former Barcelona manager Luis Enrique if Conte quits Stamford Bridge this summer.
The problem with the report is Enrique isn’t available even though he is without a job. Enrique announced after he left the Barcelona job that he wanted a break from football.
There’s definitely no smoke without fire and reports claiming Conte isn’t happy with Chelsea’s transfer strategy might just be true but would Conte leave the Chelsea job due to transfer differences with the board?
It’s scary to note that Conte left Juventus in 2014 due to differences with the Juventus board over transfers.
However, a report on Daily Mirror revealed Conte has been house hunting in Surrey with his wife and daughter. He probably won’t be house hunting if he wants to quit Chelsea.
