Chelsea striker Diego Costa is eager to leave Stamford Bridge this summer after Chelsea boss Antonio Conte told him via a text message that he wasn’t part of his plans for next season.
Costa wants to leave Chelsea but would only leave Stamford Bridge to join his former club Atletico Madrid.
Atletico Madrid can’t register any player signed this summer due to a transfer ban. The Spanish club had hoped they could sign Costa and send him out on loan but a report on Daily Mail claim Atletico cannot do this as FIFA outline that a player must be registered first before he can be loaned out.
This is definitely bad news for Costa as he wouldn’t play until January if he signs for Atletico Madrid this summer and this could damage his chances of making the Spain squad for the 2018 World Cup.
