Chelsea Player of the Year, Eden Hazard scored 17 goals this season as the Belgian returned to his best and helped Chelsea secure the Premier League title.
When asked about his favourite goals of the season, Hazard revealed his goals against West Ham at home, Manchester City away, Arsenal at home and Tottenham at Wembley were his favourite goals of the season.
West Ham at home
“It’s always good to win the first game, especially at home, and this was a very tough match which we won late thanks to Diego’s goal. I’d missed a penalty the season before so I was glad to score and it’s always nice to get on the scoresheet in the first game. It was a key moment for myself and the team,” Hazard told Chelsea’s official website.
Man City away
“It was an important goal in a fantastic win. I have to say we were a little bit lucky because they missed a lot of chances. I felt tired at the end of the run but when you score you want to celebrate and the Chelsea fans were right in front of me. When you are one-on-one with the goalkeeper it’s not easy but I was confident because I knew exactly where I was going to put the ball. It was a good finish, game over,” Hazard said.
Arsenal at home
“It was a fantastic goal at home against a rival. We lost the away game so it was good to get revenge, we did well and it was a beautiful goal. I can score with long shots but I prefer these type of goals, like the ones against Tottenham and Liverpool last season, when I dribble past some players. That’s what I’m known for,” Hazard said.
Tottenham at Wembley (FA Cup semi-final)
“This was important because it helped take us to the final and it was my first goal at Wembley. It came at an important time because at 2-2 you never know which way it will go. I came off the bench to score and then Nemanja scored an unbelievable goal so it was a good night for us,” Hazard said.
