Manchester United have been linked with a couple of big names this summer and are reportedly favourites for Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata. However, former Liverpool defender Steve Nicol believes Chelsea will still be favourites for the Premier League title next season even if Manchester United sign Harry Kane and Alvaro Morata.
Nicol believes signing quality strikers would make Manchester United one a contender for the title, but he still placed Chelsea ahead of the Blues.
“I think it would put them (United) in that bracket,” Nicol said on ESPN FC when asked if signing Morata and Kane would make them title favourites.
“What was Manchester United’s biggest problem last season?
“Finishing teams off, not putting the ball in the net.
“Guess what Harry Kane does, guess what Morata does.
“(They’ll be) one of (the favourites). Obviously Chelsea are the favourites.”
