Steve Holland has officially left his role as Chelsea’s assistant manager and will this weekend be involved in his first game as full-time England assistant manager.

Holland became Chelsea’s assistant manager in 2011 and during his time as assistant manager, Holland helped Chelsea win the Champions League, Premier League, Europa League, FA Cup and EFL Cup.

In an interview with Chelsea’s official website, Holland revealed the best atmosphere he witnessed at Stamford Bridge.

“My first chosen game is against Napoli – the 2012 Champions League Round of 16 second leg,” Holland said.

“We were 3-1 down after the away leg against arguably the best counter-attacking team in Europe at the time with Marek Hamsik, Ezequiel Lavezzi and Edinson Cavani in attack.

“There was no room for error but we managed to win the game 4-1 after extra-time with a Branislav Ivanovic goal the winner.

“I have spoken to former players, Chelsea legends, who said that was the best atmosphere they can ever remember in Stamford Bridge and they would be good judges. It is certainly the best atmosphere I can ever remember at Stamford Bridge.”
