Chelsea youngster Tammy Abraham is currently on international duty with the England under 21s, after a remarkable season with Bristol City in the Championship last term.

The 19-year-old scored 23 goals in 40 appearances last season and has been praised by former defender Stuart Pearce on Monday night for his contribution in England’s 2-1 victory over Slovakia.

Despite not scoring a goal, Pearce was impressed with the Chelsea youngster.

“I’ve got to say, Abraham was very good,” Pearce said on Sky Sports.

“He’s been up there on his own, he’s not got his goal over the two games but I tell you what he hasn’t half worked hard for the side.

“Yeah I think he did (have more options around him). When you play up there on your own, it’s not easy.”
