Chelsea star Eden Hazard is injured after he twisted his ankle during training while on international duty with Belgium.
Hazard picked up the injury during a training session with Belgium on Sunday at the National Football Centre in Tubize, as the Belgium team were preparing for their international games against the Czech Republic and Estonia.
Hazard has been ruled out of their friendly against the Czech Republic on Monday and the World Cup Qualifier in Estonia on June 9.
Sky Sports reveal that the Belgium star is back in London and will have surgery on his fractured ankle on Monday.
Belgium official Twitter account revealed the news on Sunday night: “Medical imaging showed that Eden Hazard has a fracture in his right ankle.”
A subsequent scan revealed the problem to be more serious than first feared.
Belgium, who are top of their World Cup qualifying group, two points ahead of Greece, must now do without one of their key players the next two games. And it’s also being feared that he will miss the pre-season and possibly the start of the new season.
