Chelsea star Victor Moses won’t partake in his country’s game against South Africa on June 10, and it was reported at first that it is due to injury.

NFF Executive Committee member Chris Green said this week the Chelsea star would be having surgery and was out of the team due to a persistent toe injury.

“He has been carrying a toe injury for a while and has surgery scheduled for it,” Green told ESPN.

“We decided it was best to let him have his surgery now so he can be ready for the new season.”

However a source told the website AllNigeriaSoccer that the 26-year-old isn’t injured and just needs a break after a hectic season.

“Victor Moses is not injured, he was playing for Chelsea before the season ended,” the source told website AllNigeriaSoccer.

“He pulled out of the squad as he was too tired after a strenuous season.

“Moses will be arriving Lagos on June 14 for his summer vacation, so won’t be in Uyo for the game.”
