Despite seeing Bertrand Traore leave for Lyon and Nathan Ake join Bournemouth today, Chelsea legend Frank Lampard believes Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is committed to giving young players a chance in the first team.
“The club are working hard towards that,” Lampard said as quoted on Evening Standard.
“A few years ago there was probably a line between the academy and the first team and the players weren’t crossing that.
“But now you are seeing Antonio Conte last year try to bring through the young players.
“Listen, we all know Chelsea want to win, you can’t bring young players in at the expense of that but there are signs that you can incorporate or integrate them and bring them through.
“Then all of a sudden you may see something you may not have seen because the players develop very quickly and I think Chelsea will do that.”
