There are set to be several arrivals and departures at Stamford Bridge this summer as Chelsea boss Antonio Conte strengthens the squad to ensure Chelsea challenge for the Champions League and Premier League title next season.
Chelsea have been heavily linked with Everton striker Romelu Lukaku with reports claiming the 24-year-old striker has agreed terms with Chelsea but Lukaku isn’t the only Everton player wanted by Conte.
According to a report on Daily Express, Conte is interested in signing Everton’s Ross Barkley, whose contract expires in 12 months time.
Barkley is set to leave Everton this summer and Everton manager Ronald Koeman admitted last month he wasn’t confident the England international would extend his stay.
“No, because it is a long time that he is thinking about his future,” Koeman said.
“But I’m not worried because I like to work with players who like to stay.
“And it is not about his decision. We will go on. We are looking for players in that position.
“Even if he stays, there will be more competition for him next season.”
Daily Express also claim Conte is interested in Leicester City’s Riyad Mahrez, who recently revealed his intention to leave Leicester City.
