Diego Costa might not be a Chelsea player next season, with recent events suggesting a breakdown in the relationship between the Spain international and Chelsea manager Antonio Conte.

With Chelsea keen on Everton striker Romelu Lukaku, ex Arsenal midfielder and football pundit Adrian Clarke, has warned Conte that the signing of Lukaku will be a downgrade on Costa.

“Chelsea it appears are massively in the market for Lukaku and Costa’s got the hump,” he told TalkSPORT.

“He wants out now and he wants Chelsea to flog him, to pay up his contract no doubt.

“My personal opinion is Lukaku would be a downgrade on Costa, I think Costa is a better player, it’s as simple as that.”
