It’s evident that James Rodriguez time at Real Madrid is up, but the Spanish giants still want to milk as much as possible from his sale. They have set an asking price of £70 million for the 25-year-old who they signed for around the same figure just three years ago.
Rodriguez’s value has significantly dropped over the past two seasons, as Zinedine Zidane didn’t seem to favour the Colombian. He barely started 20 games in all competitions and was snubbed for the Champions League finals against Juventus, much to his frustration.
Spanish media outlet Marca reports that the Spanish champions, who are still waiting for any official bid, feel Chelsea’s interest in James Rodriguez is the most genuine.
But reports from London suggest that Chelsea are unwilling to spend that much money on a fringe player.
No club is yet to make a tangible offer for Rodriguez, with his asking price still high. A move for the Colombian might materialise in the latter part of the season.
