John Terry will be a free agent heading into the new season, as his 22-year playing career at Chelsea has come to an end at the age of 36.

The Chelsea legend is wanted by many clubs and Birmingham manager Harry Redknapp has revealed that he has given the Chelsea legend a good offer to join him at Birmingham.

Speaking to the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast on Thursday, Redknapp said: “I’d love to have him at the football club.

“He’s a fantastic captain and great leader.

“We’ve made him a good offer and we have done the best we can. It’s up to John now, but we would love him at Birmingham.”

Redknapp still believes Terry can do the job and has confidence in his ability.

“He could play for anybody still. He has got a couple of good years in him,” Redknapp said.

“He played for me the other week in Michael Carrick’s testimonial. Fergie had the 2008 Champions League-winning team, I had an All-Star team and I had John at the back with Jamie Carragher – I would have them two together all day long. They were fantastic.

“I had a chat with him and said to him to come in – he’s doing his coaching badges – have a year or two and who knows what he wants to do in the future?”

Chelsea is more than just a football club to me; it's a passion I share, and my affinity with the Chelsea badge is one that will last forever. As far as watching my favourite team is concerned, I'd rather miss a meal than miss a Chelsea game.
