Less than a decade ago, Real Madrid broke the transfer record for signing the best player in the Premier League and World at the time, Cristiano Ronaldo.

In today’s over-inflated market, anything goes and the value of a decent player is more than the transfer fee Chelsea used to sign Andriy Shevchenko, the world’s hottest striker at the time.

With reports suggesting that Everton want £100 million for former Chelsea prodigy Romelu Lukaku, the Daily Mirror claim a deal for Lukaku to seal a sensational return to west London is all but done.

It is said the Blues will pay Everton £70million for his services and he will replace Diego Costa.

Costa’s future at Chelsea looks bleak after he revealed last week that Conte texted him to say he is no longer part of his plans.

Lukaku, who ended the season as the second highest goalscorer in the Premier League with 25 goals, has since revealed his desire to quit Everton and play at the top.
