Manchester United would be hoping the Pedro scenario doesn’t repeat itself again after reports emerged that Chelsea are set to launch bid for Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata, who is close to signing for Manchester United.
According to Metro UK, Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has approved the offer in an attempt to snatch one of Manchester United’s priority transfer targets.
Morata has agreed terms to join Manchester United but the Manchester club are yet to agree a fee with Real Madrid for the striker and Chelsea are set to do just that by offering £70million for Morata.
Manchester United reportedly had a £52.4million bid for Morata rejected by Real Madrid.
Chelsea are still in negotiations with Everton for Romelu Lukaku but the Merseyside club are reportedly refusing to budge from their £100m valuation, a fee Chelsea aren’t willing to pay.
