The 2016/17 season ended on a good note for Chelsea, as the Blues won the Premier League title for the second time in three years.

We are at the stage of the season where the club gets to sign new players to strengthen the team, and also hand new contracts to existing players who they’d like to keep.

In the Chelsea squad, the contracts of four Chelsea players are nearing their end.

Top of the list is 22-year-old Nathaniel Chalobah who spent the season with the Chelsea squad after Conte decided to keep him following a loan spell with Napoli. Chalobah made his Chelsea debut this past season after several loan spells away from the club. He made his Chelsea debut as a sub against Leicester. He signed his first professional contract with the Blues in 2012 and was on the Chelsea bench as a 15-year-old in 2010.

Next on the list is Loic Remy. The 30-year-old is still a Chelsea player but injury has hampered his career so far. He was signed by Jose Mourinho in 2014 but never really made the cut at Stamford Bridge. The Frenchman was sent on loan to Crystal Palace last season but got injured just before the start of the season.

23-year-old Lucas Piazon is the third player on the list. The Brazilian spent last season on loan with Fulham and has previously revealed his frustrations at having to move from one club to another on loan deals. He has gone on six different loan spells with six different clubs since he was signed from Sao Paolo as a youngster.  On 10 May 2012, Piazon was named Chelsea Young Player of the Year in his first season. He was part of the side that won the FA Youth Cup Final. He has one year left on his contract with Chelsea after failing to break into the Chelsea team since 2012.

24-year-old Czech Republic defender Tomas Kalas also has a year left on his contract with Chelsea. Chelsea signed him from Sigma Olomouc in 2010 and he ended the season on loan with them. He has also had loan spells with Vitesse Arnhem, FC Koln and Middlesbrough. Last season, he was on loan to Fulham.

Chelsea is more than just a football club to me; it's a passion I share, and my affinity with the Chelsea badge is one that will last forever. As far as watching my favourite team is concerned, I'd rather miss a meal than miss a Chelsea game.
