Last week, Chelsea boss Antonio Conte told Diego Costa via a text message that he wasn’t needed at Chelsea next season.

Conte’s message in full was: “Hi Diego, I hope you are well. Thanks for the seasono [sic] we spent together. Good luck for the next year but you are not in my plan.”

Conte was reportedly set to cut his holiday short for a meeting with Roman Abramovich and chairman Bruce Buck to review the situation.

However, The Sun via Metro.co.uk claim Conte has received the full support from Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich, which sends a clear message to the squad that the Italian’s decision to axe Costa is fully supported.

  1. It’s unfair to treat Diego Costa in such a manner after helping Chelsea wit d title last season

  2. Diego, needs to grow up, & needs to go, we cant babysit his moods anymore, he is a drama queen enough talent to win treble next year

    • Don’t forget he has scored the most crucial goals for us this season, very few strikers in England scores 20+ goals.

  3. Costa showed inconsistency with his passion for Chelsea. He had wanted to force his way out of the club, and he never hid his desire to leave Chelsea. All of a sudden, China talks breakdown, Atletico banned from transfer market, then Costa sees he has limited options and crying foul. No serious minded coach would want to have such an unreliable player in his squad.

i am a great chelsea fan from ASIA, its all because of DIEGO COSTA.. now chelsea may drown

    • Am sorry guy, you aren’t a Chelsea fan, Diego stopped training with his teammates at chelsea all because of a sudden China move and was not fielded in next match. Can you remember that we lost that match. I love him too but I’d prefers he repents and plead to the club entirely. Its unfortunate

  6. He always wanted to leave …. let him go

  7. I totally agree with u mo

  8. well as much as i like a proven chelsea striker to stay. i am totally behind conte decision to get costa out of the club. This guy was a pain in the ass during the mid and end of season when reports coming out saying that he wants to leave for china and atletico madrid.

Do you really think a guy whom kept giving out these info wont affect the whole team? I would even sell courtous too if we can get someone like milan keeper.

I believe the removal is a prevention of the nightmare that WILL happen if he stays for another season

  9. This guy is a proven striker. but as much as his scoring ability, with his out going speech about leaving for china or athletico madrid, i would prefer he leave and leave quietly not mess up the atmosphere in the dress room.

Its the same for liverpool when suarez wanted to leave for barcelona. Do you think any liverpool fan want to see a striker of suarez calibre to leave? NO but then when barce come knocking on the door. liverpool finally feel that its best for him to leave.

There is no MAN/ player bigger than the club

  10. It depends, for now Chelsea don’t have options in the attack. Getting a striker is not an issue but adapting to Chelsea style of play it’s a very big issue now. Let’s see how it goes

  11. Good Decision, He has to leave. i support the Coach.

Am a chelsea die hard fan and whatever the decision with the owner i accept. but i still want to see costa on the chelsea squard

  13. Augustine, you are not only a genuine Chelsea fan but also a noble human being that does not allow himself to be swayed by love for sports at the expense of justice and truth. There aren’t many of your kind around these days.At last I’ve come across someone genuinely truthful.May the Lord give you long life.

  14. Conte is hundred percent right Diego was a ticking bomb. He was a threat to the dressing room plain and simple. well done Conte

  15. Sure

  16. indeed a great honor to read from my fellows, Kudos to u all! But the truth is that Antonio’s decision over Diego is not just what he wake up in the morning and decide, because i believe our boss “Roman” gave him every support knowing that is not gonna be useful for us ahead of next season. In other words, if Diego exit will bring our 100% expectation as we hope basically on the champions league trophy i think the manager’s decision is very competent one.
