Ryan Bertrand made history when he made his Champions League debut starting for the Blues in the Champions League finals against Bayern Munich in 2012.
He left Chelsea for Southampton after Jose Mourinho became Chelsea boss and the Chelsea academy product has become one of the finest left-backs in the Premier League.
Bertrand, who spent over a decade at Stamford Bridge, has told his friends that he’s ready to quit Southampton this summer for a bigger club.
Chelsea have shown an interest in their former player, and with the Blues having no competition for Marcos Alonso who was great in his role as a right wing-back last season, a move for Bertrand will definitely make sense.
But will a move for the 27-year-old be an upgrade on Alonso or a downgrade?
What are your thoughts?
