Chelsea’s summer transfer business reports on the club’s interest in Juventus left back, Alex Sandro has been confirmed to be genuine:
Chief executive and general manager, Giuseppe Marotta, told Corriere dello Sport: “A substantial offer has arrived.
“We have no intention of selling anyone but if a player decides to leave, as has happened in previous years, then at the end of the day he has to go.
“We don’t keep anyone against their will, but at the moment there are no such situations and I hope nobody will leave.”
The club with the offer is Chelsea. So, with the transfer likely to go through, let’s look at 3 positions the Brazilian defender can play for Chelsea:
LEFT BACK/LEFT WINGBACK:
The Brazilian defender’s versatility is a boost for Conte and Chelsea. This will make our system for flexible, less predictable and balanced. With him in the side, the team can change from a back three to a back four which will clearly suit him.
LEFT MIDFIELDER/ LEFT WING FORWARD:
The Brazilian also has the technique, pace and skill to patrol the left flank either as left-sided midfielder or as a left wing forward. He could add more thrust in attacking play which could be vital.
LEFT CENTRAL DEFENDER:
The Brazilian could also deputize at left central defense in a back three in the event of injury crisis, fatigue or suspensions. He should be adept at defending in deeper areas.
His signing would surely beef up Chelsea. Let’s comment on this and make contributions.
