The 2016/17 Premier League season has come and gone, with Chelsea deservedly ending the campaign with the Premier League crown.
N’Golo Kante went on to win the PFA Player of the Year award as well as the FWA Player of the Year award for his contribution to Chelsea’s title-winning season.
Kante was a fox in the Chelsea midfield and his ability to stop opposition play with his tackles earned him rave reviews from all quarters.
A report by Daily Express reveal the top 20 tacklers in the concluded Premier League season, and two Chelsea players were in the 20.
Cesar Azpilicueta and N’Golo Kante unsurprisingly made the cut, as the tackling abilities were evident all season long.
Azpilicueta was 17th on the list as he made 84 successful tackles in the concluded campaign.
Kante made a whopping 127 tackles during our title-winning campaign but it was far fewer than his previous campaign with Leicester City where he made 175 tackles. The Frenchman ended the season as the second best tackler, as Everton’s Idrissa Gueye ended the season with 135 tackles, claiming the number one spot.
