Eden Hazard fractured his ankle in training with his national team Belgium on Sunday and underwent surgery on the injury the following day.
Hazard will be out for three months and is expected to return to training in the middle of September, and his international teammate Jan Vertonghen is hopeful Chelsea star Eden Hazard is fit for the start of next season.
Vertonghen has revealed that Hazard was all smiles when he saw him two days ago after he sustained the injury.
“I spoke to him very briefly, two days ago,” the central defender said on Sky Sports.
“Eden is a very positive guy and he was already smiling.
“We wish him all the best and hopefully see him back at the start of next season.”
