Chelsea have announced that academy goalkeeper Nathan Baxter has left the club to join Woking on loan.
Chelsea FC released a statement via its official website, thus: “Academy goalkeeper Nathan Baxter has joined Woking on loan.
“The 18-year-old, a Youth Cup winner with the Blues, will spend the forthcoming campaign with the National League side.”
In January, Baxter joined National League side Solihull Moors and made 17 appearances for the club and now the Blues have confirmed the 18-year-old will spend the coming season on loan with Woking.
Woking said in a statement they were delighted to sign Baxter for the upcoming campaign.
“Woking Football Club are delighted to announce that Nathan Baxter will be joining on a season-long loan from Chelsea from the 1st of July,” Woking wrote.
“Nathan, 18, is a goalkeeper at Chelsea, currently on a three-year contract with the Blues and wanted to go out on loan for a full season to experience men’s competitive football.
“Nathan won an FA Youth Cup winner’s medal in 2015/16, and spent the second half of last season on loan at National League side Solihull Moors, keeping 6 clean sheets in 17 league matches.”
Baxter added: “I’m here for a full season, I think it’s important when you come to a club that you fully commit to it.
“I want to show people that I can put together a full season of consistent National League performances. It’s a really exciting club to be at and I hope we can finish as high as possible.”
