Alex Sandro is the wing-back Chelsea are most keen to sign this summer and has been on Chelsea’s radar even before the start of the pre-season window.

Chelsea have had a bid rejected for the Brazilian and there were still hopes that Chelsea will be able to complete the signing sooner rather than later. But recent comments by Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri seems to have killed all such hopes.

Allegri was speaking to reporters after Juventus’s final match of this summer’s tour of America, a 1-1 draw against AS Roma, who finished second behind the Old Lady in last season’s Serie A. He said: “Alex Sandro? He’s a Juventus player, he’s extraordinary and he won’t leave us. He’s improved so much since he came to Juve and he has the margins to improve again. Along with Marcelo, he’s one the best in the world.”
