Antonio Conte’s switch to the 3-4-3 system last season helped spark Chelsea into life and win the Premier League title.
Chelsea’s 3-4-3 was copied by most of our rivals last season after they saw the effectiveness of the formation and Chelsea left wing-back Marcos Alonso has revealed Chelsea are working on new tactics for the new season to help improve the team.
“We are working on new things this year to improve as a team. [It was] not only Chelsea [that used this system]. It’s an old Italian system that worked very well last year,” Alonso said as quoted on Daily Mirror.
“It’s normal that other teams are trying to play like this, depending on the players you have. It’s good to play in different ways.
“Football forgets everything very quick. It’s already time to think about the next season and do better than last year.”
