Chelsea will be in four competitions this season and the Blues will also have the difficult task of defending their title, a feat that hasn’t been achieved since Sir Alex Ferguson left his post as Manchester United manager.
Alonso has revealed that as far as this season is concerned, he’d keep working hard and keep fighting to help the team achieve its objectives.
“This is Chelsea – we play in four competitions this year,” the Spanish defender told the Evening Standard.
“We have so many games and competition can only be good for me and for the team. That’s it.
“I will just keep training, keep improving, keep trying to do well for the team and keep fighting.”
Conte is keen on signing another wing-back to provide competition for Alonso’s position, and the Blues have been linked with Alex Sandro of Juventus and Ryan Bertrand of Southampton.
