Two of Chelsea’s youngsters have left Stamford Bridge this summer, Dominic Solanke joined Liverpool while Nathan Ake joined Bournemouth and another talented youngster has been linked with Chelsea exit.
According to Daily Mail, Chelsea youngster Charly Musonda is set to join Scottish champions Celtic this summer.
Musonda spent the last two seasons on loan at Spanish side Real Betis but was recalled early in January after limited appearances at Betis last season. Musonda failed to make a single appearance for Chelsea last season after his recall.
Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers revealed on Saturday that he is closing in on a big-money deal to secure the signing of a young player of “substantial pedigree and quality” to aid Celtic’s efforts to qualify for the Champions League and Daily Mail believe the player is 20-year-old Musonda.
“It’s been a period of six months,” said Rodgers.
“Celtic have been great in trying to make it happen and if we can close the deal out, it will be a high level of quality.
“It’s good money that will be spent on the player who is of a substantial pedigree and quality. He is young but he is a big talent and he has experience.”
When asked directly if the player in question was Musonda, Rodgers would say only: “He’s a very good player.”
What would be your reaction if Musonda left Chelsea for Celtic this summer?
