It seems Chelsea aren’t ready to take anything for granted again after losing Dominic Solanke to Liverpool and having to sell Nathaniel Chalobah against the club’s wishes to Watford.
The club now chooses to give the players new contract and loan them rather than risk losing them for nothing.
Tomas Kalas has now signed a new four-year contract at Chelsea and will now spend the forthcoming campaign on loan at Fulham.
Kalas excelled on loan at Fulham last season, and the defender will now return to Craven Cottage alongside fellow Chelsea youngster Lucas Piazon.
Kalas will be hoping to help Slavisa Jokanovic’s side achieve promotion having missed out in the Championship play-off semi-finals.
The 24-year-old is a full Czech Republic international and made four appearances for the Blues during the 2013/14 season including in a famous win at Anfield.
