Chelsea are in the market for a new striker this season, as the Blues are seeking a top forward to replace Diego Costa at Stamford Bridge.
With the Blues failing to capture Romelu Lukaku from Everton, reports from Italy claim Chelsea placed a sudden bid of £88 million for Juventus striker Gonzalo Higuain.
Since the loss of Lukaku to Everton, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Andrea Belotti and Alvaro Morata have been the three names linked to occupy Costa’s position in Chelsea.
However, Tuttosport claim Chelsea submitted a bid 10 days ago for the Argentinian striker, with the bid being rejected immediately by Juventus director Giuseppe Marotta.
Chelsea fans have reacted to the rumour by claiming they don’t need such a deal at Stamford Bridge and one fan even admitted that he’d rather burn the money than spend it on Higuain.
Rather burn €88m than sign higuain

If you can bid €100m for Higuain, why not bid the same amount for a younger player with more potential like Belotti?

Aubameyang is better Higuain in all things. So let's face Auba's deal, we don't put two hands in a mouth.
