On Saturday afternoon, as Chelsea played Arsenal, there were a number of players that impressed, but my standout performer on the afternoon was the Ivory Coast international Jeremie Boga.

The 20-year-old was a constant menace, a thorn in the skin of Arsenal, and he did create some openings. To think that the opposition he came up against was a top one even makes his performance all the more impressive. I honestly didn’t see it coming, but then again, that is the interesting part of the game — endless surprises.

He’s only 20, meaning he’s far from the finished article, and he has plenty of time to be a fulfilled star; all that’s required is a conducive atmosphere for him to thrive, and at Chelsea, and in Conte, he has all of that. If given enough game time, he can grow his game, and be better. This is honestly what Chelsea have to do with this youngster. There aren’t that many players of his age who dazzle like he has, there is something in the man waiting to explode, and we must explore it.

Hazard is going to be away for a while, so I’m thinking that Boga can fill in that position while that happens. We don’t want to send him away on loan to a lower club, because that could ruin his development. He needs game time at a club as big as we are. We must allow that happen, we must nurture this talent. Boga is good now, but I see beyond that and I think he can become a star.

King Jay is a writer/broadcaster with years of experience under his belt. His love affair with Chelsea actually began as a joke, but today, he stands tall as a die-hard blue. What makes him perfect for this blog? He lives for Chelsea FC, in fact, I heard he sat in the middle of a road, and refused to go home after that bitter loss to Barcelona in 2009. Haha.
