Anytime Diego Costa scores 20 Premier League goals, Chelsea end up as champions. In his three seasons at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea have won the league twice and Costa scored 20 league goals to help Chelsea to the title.
However, the Brazilian-born Spain international might not feature next season after falling out with Antonio Conte.
Chelsea are yet to sign a replacement for Costa, but Michael Owen is sure that the Blues can win the league with or without Costa.
“As much as he is a good player, you wouldn’t say the team is a one player team, or that they are absolutely reliant [on Costa],” said Owen.
“If they lose him and buy say [Pierre-Emerick] Aubameyang, he could possibly score as many goals as Costa did.
“I think there are other players out there that they could replace him with, even if he is a brilliant player.
“But Chelsea’s key is that they are so strong all over, they’re not reliant on one player like one or two teams around Europe.”
