Chelsea academy product Lewis Baker has just finished a successful two-year loan spell at Vitesse in the Eredivisie and impressed for England’s Under-21s at the European Championship.

The Blues have sold a number of youngsters this summer, but will hold on to emerging star Lewis Baker.

The Chelsea academy star is set to sign a new Chelsea deal, with seven clubs in the Premier League and Championship lining up for him.

Chelsea don’t feel he’s ready to play for the Blues yet but are well aware of his qualities and will want to loan him to a Premier League side ahead of next season.

Four clubs from the Premier League and three clubs from the Championship have enquired about Baker’s availability but nothing yet has been agreed for Baker.

Baker enjoyed a two-year loan spell with Vitesse, and Chelsea want to adopt that same strategy as it has worked for both Andreas Christensen and Thibaut Courtois.
