Chelsea midfielder Nemanja Matic reportedly wants to leave Chelsea following the arrival of 22-year-old midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko from AS Monaco this summer.
The 28-year-old midfielder has been linked with a move to Manchester United and Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is reportedly willing to allow Matic join rivals Manchester United as a gesture of goodwill in view of his service to the club.
Matic was left out of Chelsea’s tour of Asia as he seeks a move away from the club.
Matic trained with Eden Hazard, who is continuing his rehabilitation from a fractured ankle, on Wednesday at Chelsea’s Cobham base.
Chelsea and Manchester United are yet to agree a fee for the midfielder and according to various reports, Chelsea would only let Matic join Manchester United if a fee of £50million is received.
Pedro, who suffered multiple facial injuries after a collision with Arsenal goalkeeper David Ospina during Chelsea’s 3-0 preseason victory over Arsenal, also took part in a light session on Wednesday.
