Chelsea midfielder Lewis Baker spent the last two seasons away on loan at Dutch side Vitesse and the 22-year-old, who is happy with the experience of working under Antonio Conte for the first time, is eager to show Conte what he can do on the pitch.
“It was great to get on and get some minutes against quality opposition in an impressive stadium like that, the fans were great as well so it was a good night,” Baker told Chelsea’s official website.
“I was happy with the part that I played. It’s nice for me to work with such talented team-mates and I’m learning every day from them.
“We’ve been working in training on what we need to do individually and as a team, so we know our roles inside out and it’s just about going out and trying to perform.
“It’s a big season and for me personally I want to play as much as I can. I will give 100 per cent and just try to show the manager what I can do.”
