Diego Costa is not part of the Chelsea squad that has traveled to the Far East for this summer’s pre-season football after falling out with Antonio Conte during the holidays.
Chelsea were in the market to sign Costa’s replacement and the Blues have agreed to sign Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid.
There were hopes by some that Conte might recall Costa back to the squad, especially if Chelsea fails to sign a replacement. But the Italian has assured that Costa won’t be back to the team.
Speaking about Costa, Conte who’s currently with the team in Beijing said: “I don’t like to talk about a player when they don’t stay here, the only things I can tell you is in January the Costa situation was very clear for the club, for him and for his agent, and the situation is closed.”
