Chelsea seemed to be in pole position to sign Everton striker Romelu Lukaku, who Chelsea sold to the Toffees three seasons ago for the sum of £28m.

Talks between Chelsea and Everton dragged for so long without Chelsea making a bid for the 24-year-old, and now, Everton have accepted a bid of £75m for the former Chelsea prodigy.

Conte is yet to sign a new contract with Chelsea as the Italian is said to be unhappy with the club’s transfer policies, exactly the same reason he left Juventus despite the success he achieved in Turin.

Conte was already looking forward to the signing of Lukaku and except there’s a turn of events, the Belgian will complete a move to United, much to the frustrations of the Italian.
