It was an eventful last season for Chelsea, as Antonio Conte led Chelsea to the Premier League title in his debut season as Chelsea boss.
However, the Italian has had to endure a frustrating summer as Chelsea have only announced the signing of Willy Caballero – a free agent goalkeeper whose contract just ended with Manchester City.
Chelsea’s lapses and delay in placing a bid for Romelu Lukaku is the latest setback, as Manchester United hijacked the move with just one bid. By the time Chelsea matched the offer, it was already too late.
Conte and his players will resume pre-season preparations on Monday and the Italian will demand answers as to why no deals have been done this summer.
He is yet to sign a new contract with the club and several reports claim he’s unhappy. But Chelsea claim reports of Conte being unhappy should be ‘taken with a pinch of salt’.
