Chelsea travelled to Asia today for the Blues’ preseason tour of Asia with Chelsea set to play Arsenal in Beijing, China and then play Bayern Munich and Inter Milan in Singapore.
Five Chelsea players didn’t travel with the squad for the preseason tour of Asia.
Eden Hazard didn’t travel with the team, with the 26-year-old still recovering from an ankle injury he suffered last month while with the Belgian national team.
Chelsea’s new signing Tiemoue Bakayoko also failed to travel with the squad to Asia with the 22-year-old midfielder still recovering from a minor knee injury which caused him to have an operation at the end of last season.
Antonio Rudiger, who joined from Roma for £34m, failed to travel with the team after he was granted extended time off having played for Germany at the Confederations Cup. He will join up with the squad in Singapore next week.
Diego Costa and Nemanja Matic are expected to leave Chelsea this summer so the duo failed to travel with the team with Chelsea negotiating their transfer away from Stamford Bridge.
