After over a year of absence from the Brazilian national team, Chelsea defender David Luiz finally got the chance to represent his country last month.

Coach Tite finally recalled the Chelsea defender last month to represent Brazil in a friendly tour in Melbourne.

Luiz who had an impressive campaign for Chelsea last season deserved to be back in the team and he has revealed how happy he was.

“It was great to be back,” he told the official Chelsea website. “I felt very good there. It was hard to be out so it was a great feeling, it was like my first game.”

He nearly marked the occasion with a goal but saw his header crash against the bar – and the 30-year-old promised to score next time. “Almost! Next time…” he promised.
